A couple days ago there were 2 girls that came into our classroom. They asked us to write our name on a piece of sticker and put it on our shirts. Matt, Garrett and I changed our names to Spencer, G Swag, and Jessica. (We all got a kick out of that) Then they went and asked us what we considered bullying. They wrote a whole list on the board for us to see. A couple examples of bullying were: cyber bullying, verbal bullying, nonverbal bullying, sexual harassment, physical bullying, ignoring someone, emotional bullying, and racial bullying. There are plenty more that I haven’t named. Then we went around the room and said our name (Jessica) and state “if someone really knew me they would know….” After the whole class went we did another exercise, the 2 girls put a red piece of tape on the floor and asked us all to pick a side and stand there. Then they asked us a variety of questions and if it applied to us we had to stand on the line. This was to show how similar we all were. They got the idea from the movie The Freedom Writers. They asked us questions like: Have you ever done something illegal? Have you ever bullied someone? Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever judged someone for what they wear? Have you ever been judged on what you wear? Have you ever felt like you haven’t fit in? And, have you ever changed your ways to fit in? Questions pretty much like that but there were a lot more than just that. Then Emily passed around papers that had our names on the top and we all got other peoples papers. The reason for this was to say something good about each person in the class room. The purpose for this is first of all for the person to feel good about themselves and for everyone else to get complemented and to see what the people in the class thinks about them. I really enjoyed my paper! There were funny and typical thing on my paper from Matt haha and there were some really nice comments! When I read my paper it made me feel really good and loved by the classroom. I feel like you never really realize how good a compliment could feel. Some compliments that I got were that I was really outgoing, and that I have a pretty smile, and I was beautiful, and that I had nice eyes. And some other ones were that I had sexy legs and that I had very nice perky features. After that the class was pretty much over but it really bonded the class and made us all come closer together. I honestly feel that I made new friends that day and that makes me feel good J. So I feel the main reason we had that course was to show that no one wants to get bullied and everyone likes compliments. The main rule is “Treat others how you would want others to treat you!”

30 years into the future!
Thirty years from now, my typical day in college would go something like this:
I wake up to a robot rubbing my back and singing "you are my sunshine, my only sunshine". I get out of bed and take a shower where there are robot hands that wash your hair and your body (but its optional). Then I go over to my closet and its a remote control that moves all the clothes in circles so I can pick which outfit I want to wear. I get dressed and go to the kitchen where the robot from before has made me breakfast. I eat my delicious meal and get my stuff and head to class. The walkways at school are those escalators from Disney, where it walks for you. I go in class and learn my lecture. The teachers are all so nice (they are all like Mrs. Emily). After my lecture I go back to my room and watch some TV. The TV is not like any other TV, it is so technological that if you are watching a cooking show you will be able to smell the food, if you are watching a TV show it looks like you are in the show with them, and if you are watching a movie there is surround sound and its realistic. After I watch some TV I go hangout with my friends. Everyone is rich and had no problem spending money so my friends and I always go out. The clubs and bars have no drinking age and the malls are all high tech and 5 stories high. So I go to my fiends room and we all dress up in going out clothes and we go hit the bars. We all dance and have a good time. The bars and clubs are black rooms and everyone glows in the dark. There are lights flashing everywhere and music is blasting. Then the night has gotten to an end and we all go back. Everyone has flying cars that have flashing lights all over the bottom of them. I get back to my room and go into bed. Then my day starts over again!

When I think of an advertisement I think of a picture or ad that makes me what to buy something. If I were trying to sell a product I would pay attention to the age group of the costumers I’m trying to persuade. When I see and advertisement I think to myself do I really need this product and when I don’t need something I won’t get it. When I am buying a product I don’t necessarily buy name brand, I usually buy a product that tastes the same or what looks good. I definitely do not get swayed by celebrity endorsements at all! I usually buy something I really enjoy or really have an interest in. Whenever I am watching t.v. or listening to the radio you will always hear me singing along with the commercial. I always get hooked on songs with catchy music or slogans.
When I see this ad it is trying to persuade the costumer to sit down and relax and have an ice cold Heineken beer. “It’s relaxing” is written on the top of the advertisement. They are trying to say when you drink you get relaxed. But I don’t find that correct, you get dizzy and loud and hyper. But to each his own! J

Ecological Footprint
If everyone in the world had my resources we would have to have 5.5 earths for everyone to survive and 24.6 global acres of Earth’s productive areas. When I first started my ecological footprint I didn’t know what I was getting into. I never realized how much energy I was using, it was shocking! The dictionary definition of an ecological footprint is the measure of human demand on the Earth’s ecosystem. It is basically telling you how much land area it takes to support your lifestyle. This quiz helps you realize how much energy you are using and how much you are hurting the Earth. This quiz also lets you realize your week points and shows you what you could stop doing to help your environment. What I could do to help our planet and our environment I can cut down of services and energy land. I could stop using a lot of water as well, like keeping the water running when i brush my teeth and having the shower run while im not 100% ready to use it yet. I could cut down on keeping things plugged into the walls and always having my light on. I will try my hardest to make sure I am as ecologically friendly as I can be!

Introducing Myself.
Hello, my name is Eden Rachel Vidal, I am 18 years old, and I am in my first year of college. I was born in Plantation Florida on September 27, 1992 and was raised in Hollywood and Pembroke Pines. There are 4 people in my family or maybe I should say 5 as my yorkie, Duke, certainly acts like a family member. I have an older sister named Ella Dae who is in her senior year at UCF. She is my inspiration and I have always looked up to her and aspire to be like her. I feel my family is unique; my mother was born in Holland and my father was born in Israel. My mother and father got divorced when I was 1 year old and I continued to live with my mother and sister. When I was around 5 years old my father moved back to Israel. He became very ill and wanted to be back with his family. My mother met my stepdad, Steve, a year after my parents divorced. When I was around 8 years old my father passed away from lung and bone cancer, I was devastated. I still sometimes struggle with what has happened with my dad but my family has always been there to support me. I am a very energetic and outgoing person and live my life to the fullest. I love my family and they are a very important part in my life. To give you an idea, my mother and I talk every day. I went to Charles W. Flanagan High School where I played 4 years of volleyball. I was the captain of my volleyball team for 2 years along with being Vice President for my junior and senior year. High school and volleyball were something I was really into and I lived my life around it. I love sports and being athletic and active, it’s my personality. My goal in life is to strive to always be happy and be myself no matter what. I know I’m like a bubble ready to burst and I do not apologize for it. I enjoy making new friends and I love who I am and I’m excited to see who I will end up becoming.
